Haiti Earthquake 2010:

General Inquiries:


The national Committee of the Red Cross has established a family linking Web site enabling persons in Haiti and abroad to search for and register the names of relatives missing since the earthquake. To locate or register loved ones unaccounted for in Haiti, visit the Family News Network of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Inquiries concerning U.S. Citizens in Haiti:

Contact the U.S. Department of State, Office of Overseas Citizens services, at 1-888-407-4747 or 202-647-5225.

Inquiries about Haitian citizens living in Haiti:

Please be patient and call repeatedly until the lines clear or contact other family members who live nearby. Telephone, internet and other communication lines are often disrupted in times of disaster.

Inquiries about local donations:

Medical (first aid) supplies and nonperishable foods may be dropped off to the Coalition for Haitian American Empowerment of Monmouth and Ocean Counties. 732-455-5546 or 732-492-0360. The drop off location is at 1310 Asbury Ave. in Asbury Park. They plan to ship out supplies the week of January 18th.

NOTE:

Please be advised that the American Red Cross is not sponsoring the drive at St. Mary’s Church in Barnegat, NJ. The coordinator of the drive has confirmed that items collected, including non perishable foods and water, will be donated to the Coalition for Haitian American Empowerment of Monmouth and Ocean Counties. The coordinator has indicated that financial donations collected at the drive will be submitted to the American Red Cross International Relief Fund. Monetary contributions can also be remitted directly to the American Red Cross through our website. We are grateful for the support of our local community and partners to bring aid to those affected by the earthquake in Haiti.
